Hey! This is Olivier again, the previous writer? The person who wrote the super long article update? You don't remember me? ... Oh … Well, I'm the writer of this article.
Anyways, we officially got 225 signatories! That's a really large amount! Think about putting 225 people in a circle! It's gonna be a really big circle! Try having a line of 225 people for the ping pong table! What I'm trying to say is, this is a really big number. A really huge number. This is amazing, and while I can't necessarily say thanks to each and every one of your names (because I don't have them, I'm mostly just a writer), but I want you to know, you have the heartfelt gratitude of me, Logan, and most people signing this petition.
Another thing I've noticed is that our school was built to the top of the line of its time. It has wires in the walls for mounting old projectors that use extremely low res video cables and feeds, but technology changes a lot, doesn't it? But now I can safely say we are at a point where we can read small text on a projector screen. So why are we still having those annoying projector carts? Well, while it doesn't cost too much, it'll cost some money to redo those old cables with newer type cables and get the projectors mounted in each and every single classroom. That's just something which most people don't notice.
But something which most people going down A hall yesterday would've noticed is that when they were looking through the already smaller than normal storage closets, there was an ancient IBM Wheelwriter 3 on a cart! The IBM Wheelwriter 3 was released in 1984! Now that's old! It may be a relic from when ISB was an elementary school! If you don't know what a Wheelwriter 3 is, it's an electric typewriter. Electric typewriters offer many benefits to mechanical ones, and also provide a much better typing feel.
Those two paragraphs show things that don't really happen in other schools, such as the option school ACMA (which recently was rebuilt).
Here are some things that would be appealing if we got a rebuild.
Lower energy costs, because of aging specs and older lighting systems along with all the new building improvements that would come with newer building methods and designs. School energy bills likely cost more than yours, so small things can make a considerable difference.
No going through the rain to get to the portables or modulars. If there's rain, and you're going to the portables, you're likely gonna get wet. Imagine carrying papers and even a drop can destroy small writing. Going to the modulars, while there is one rain covered entrance, that is not what most use. Most come from one of the other ways into the courtyard rather than the A hall entrance. Then from the other entrances most usually enter from the door closer to the lunch area. And since the doors most likely aren't unlocked when most people get there, they get wet. Along with everything they're carrying.
Safer. While the campus is not a prime target, intrusions can happen, and the fact there are so many spaces between the buildings that intruders can get to doesn't exactly make it as safe as newer buildings such as ACMA. I shall not say exactly how, since this is an online article. But there are most certainly ways.
Fixes to the issues in the building. There are so many I'm not even gonna attempt to list them.
Those are just some ways that it'll be easier, cheaper, and better for everyone.
I thank you all again for signing this petition, and I wish you all the best of luck, especially for the seniors! On that note, keep sharing the petition if you can, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
