Not to allow the a person convicted of a culpable homicide to compete in the olympics / Paraolympics

The Issue

The IPC has cleared Oscar Pistorius to compete in future competitions, despite sentence and his conviction for Culpable Homcide. The statement was as follows:-

"Throughout this case, the IPC has stressed the importance of differentiating between Oscar's contribution to the Paralympic Movement and his private life. As a sports organisation, it would be unwise for the IPC to comment on the conclusion of a court case that is not related to sport."

As sportsmen are often considered "role models" to children (especially in the case of a paralympian), Oscar Pistorius should be banned from any further games as he is proven to be guilty in the culpable homicide of another human being
