The Issue

"The goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practiced without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play." - IOC It is only the fourth day of the Olympics, yet three separate incidents have occurred where Olympic athletes from four separate countries: Lebanon, Syria, Saudia Arabia and Tunisia, have discriminated against Israeli athletic delegates.  The purpose of the Olympic Games as stated in the IOC's mission statement has been violated each time an Olympic delegate refuses to compete against an Israeli athlete or refuses a fellow athlete access to board a bus, as the Lebanese delegation did to the Israeli athletes just before the opening ceremonies.  Demand of the IOC: if an athlete discriminates another athlete because of their gender, religion or nationality, that athlete and the entire delegation of that athlete's nation shall be disqualified from competition in that year's Olympic games. .
