We have witnessed the refusal of the horse Saintboy to jump with her rider Annika Schleu in the Olympic games for the German team.

We watched with horror as he was repeatedly punished and the fear in his face. This horse clearly is not suitable for this activity and should not be forced to perform. 

We urge the powers to be, which own Saintboy, to release him to an Animal Sanctuary so he can continue to live his life as a normal horse. 

Germany has a tradition of love and respect for animals, and this tragic handling is not representative of Germany's tradition or values as it pertains to animal care. Please make things right and release Saintboy to a Sanctuary so that this situation can be remediated. He should not pay with his life in any way for his plain refusal to comply with something that is so unnatural to horses. He should be in a calm pasture surrounded by other horses instead of in a noisy stadium, forced to perform in terror. 

PLEASE RELEASE SAINTBOY TO A SANCTUARY WITHOUT DELAY. THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AND THE ANIMAL WELFARE PROTECTION COMMUNITY WILL THANK YOU.
