Each year, more than 100 million animals—including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds—are killed in the U.S for scientific experiments performed to benefit humans ("People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals | Animal Rights in the UK."). ​ An animal rights organization has filed a federal complaint alleging employees of Jackson Laboratory ignored animal care regulations and created conditions that led to the suffering and death of mice bred for scientific research.​​ And it is not just the mice in danger, as reported, dogs accounted for 7.1% of the animals experimented on in the year 2014.  Yes, that is right, other beloved dogs are in danger and they need our help now!
