Sadaf Rahimi is the female boxer selected to represent Afghanistan. She was just told that she cannot compete in the Olympics because she is not good enough. This happened weeks after she was offered a wild-card slot to compete in the Olympics, which is offered to a participant when their country does not have someone who will be able to qualify in that particular sport.. She has been steadily gaining experience in the ring, and deserves to be allowed to fight.

“I want to deliver a message to the world through my fighting that Afghan girls are not victims,” says Rahimi.

Rahimi has already fought several battles to get to this stage, both with her country and in the ring. Her determination and quickly developing skill have gotten her to this point, and rescinding an offer to participate in the Olympics weeks after she received it is unsportsmanlike.
