No more animal selfie deaths!

The Issue

The taking of "selfies" is out of control. Tourists block streets, sidewalks, and building entrances just so they can get one more image of themselves. This is bad enough. But now, animals are being dragged into the selfie craze. Tourists in Brazil killed a baby dolphin for selfies. A couple in China seized a peacock, photographed themselves with it, and pulled feathers out of its tail, causing it to die of shock. A woman in Macedonia dragged a swan out of the water by its wing, got her selfie, and abandoned the swan on the beach. It later died. We must make this behavior punishable by, at the very least, a huge fine. We need to keep the animals safe - and, I hope, show the selfie-takers the consequences of their actions.
