Animals deserve to be treated humanely
Cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, and other type of animals are already part in our lives. As you walk in your street, there are lots of pets that you would see from your neighbors. They said, pets can give happiness and could take away your stress and worries. Some of us are willing to spend hundreds and thousands just to buy an animal that we or our child desires. As we talk about them, could you observe how many animals are in the street walking here and there like they don’t have a place to stay? Could you also observe how many of them are starving to death and are abused? If we, humans, should be treated nicely with justice, then why animals can’t?
According to the data of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society, during the year of 2019, there are approximately 12 million of stray animals, especially dogs and cats that are roaming outside without any owners. And as the years pass by, stray animals are increasing including those being abused. The reason why animals were being abandoned is because the former owners can’t afford to give them proper nutrition, plus, they are just an extra in the family’s budget. Due to this situation, they don’t have any choice but to let them go and roam in every corner of the street ‘til they starved to death. Another thing is that there a lot of abusers who likely abused their pet just because it doesn’t listen to them. Some of them would smash the animal’s head using a stick or a steel that results them to bleed until it dies. But, big thanks to the organization of PAWS for rescuing them and gives them a temporary shelter until they could find a new suitable owner for them.
With this advocacy, I would like to extend my petition as animals deserve to be treated humanely because just like us, they deserve to receive love and respect. They deserve to be treated fair, just like us. Animals and humans are the same which both have soul and feelings. So, in my conclusion with this, signing in this petition would give a big help and awareness that animals should not be treated cruelly, but equally.
