Only two of us showed this morning, which is OK because there were four security guards plus their supervisor, and that's taking money directly from Verity.
The security contract ends after Wednesday, but I'm still going to protest. Apparently, it intimidates the Verity Baptist members when I show up, and I say this because they were verbal today -- and said I don't intimidate them -- which means I do.
And although intimidation is not a goal, it's a good enough reason.
Their lead bullyboy, Ryan, made a point of saying, "Hi, Sean!" -- like I'd be surprised by that (?) -- and I said "Hi, Ryan!"
That's when he told me I was the least intimidating man he'd ever seen.
I explained I wasn't trying to intimidate him -- and as I was doing that, Joann Jimenez got out of her car (she didn't bring her kids today) and screeched, "Get a life, Sean!"
Her expression spoke volumes: Anger. Shame. Embarrassment.
Are those Christian values?
I mean, I know they're common Christian emotions... but are they Christian values?
I explained I had a life; that my life was dedicated to exposing her for being an ignorant and hateful bigot and shutting her idiot husband's mutant church down and driving them both into bankruptcy.
Roger just looked at me and went inside. He seemed afraid.
So she went inside after him -- following -- like a good wife should, according to her husband, The Right Reverend Pastor Dickturd.
As the faithful were leaving, the "Burn in Hell, faggots!" lady -- in front of her three kids -- yelled, "Bye, faggots!"
Darcy (the other protester) and I both sort of looked at each other and laughed because we're both straight.
We explained this to "Burn in Hell, faggots!" lady, and she got a confused look on her face. When I asked if she normally yelled hateful names at people in front of her kids, or was she just an idiot, generally, she kept on walking.
And we saved two of their members from getting a $250 parking ticket after they parked in a handicapped spot without displaying a permit -- and they thanked us when we politely brought it to their attention.
There were at least as many children at today's service as there were adults (if not more).
Tonight's "Bible Study" begins at 6PM, but I'll probably get there around 5:30PM... just FYI for those interested in making your presence felt.
Cheers.
Sean
