¡Exigimos respeto hacia el gremio artístico duranguense!

We demand respect toward local artists from Durango, Mexico!

Demandamos un trato digno hacia el artista local duranguense. Esta misma historia de corrupción y fraudes se repite con funcionarios públicos en otros estados de México. Sin embargo, Durango que ha sido la cuna de artistas como Dolores del Río, Ramón Novarro, Andrea Palma, Silvestre Revueltas, Ricardo Castro y que se hace llamar la “Tierra del Cine” actualmente dista mucho de ser un lugar que cobije a sus artistas locales e impulse su arte.

We demand a dignified treatment towards the local artists from Durango, Mexico. This same story of corruption and fraud repeats itself with public officials in other states of Mexico. However, Durango, which has been the birthplace of artists such as Dolores del Río, Ramón Novarro, Andrea Palma, Silvestre Revueltas, Ricardo Castro and which prides itself with being the “Land of Cinema”, is currently far from being a place that shelters its local artists and boosts their art.

Artistas Duranguenses han sufrido la falta de respeto continua y sistémica por parte de los institutos de arte y cultura del Estado de Durango al no ser recompensados por su trabajo después de haber brindado sus servicios.

Local artists have suffered the continuous and systemic lack of respect by the art and culture institutes of the State of Durango, by not being rewarded for their work after having provided their services.

Artistas que han participado en festivales o concursos de arte también han sufrido la falta de respeto por parte de los institutos al no recibir el premio o reconocimiento prometido. 

Artists who have participated in festivals or art competitions have also suffered such disrespect from the institutes by not receiving the prize or recognition they promised.

Debemos alzar nuestras voces ante esta problemática y romper con una cultura tan falta de ética y responsabilidad con la que se conducen los dirigentes y trabajadores de estos institutos.

We must raise our voices in order to address this problem and break with a culture that lacks ethics and accountability by which the leaders and workers of these institutes conduct themselves with.

Hagamos que el: "no hay dinero, dese la vuelta mañana a ver si ya salió su pago" sea inaceptable.

Let's make it unacceptable for them to tell us: "there's no money, come back tomorrow to see if your payment has posted".

Ellos son responsables y trabajan para nosotros los ciudadanos duranguenses.

We must hold them accountable as they work for us citizens of Durango.
