This is the full email received from BCC

“Dear Stephanie

Thank you for contacting Brisbane City Council regarding your concerns about wildlife safety at Toohey Road. Thanks also for sharing the link to the petition that has recently been established on this issue.

We know this is an important area for wildlife movement given the road intersects Toohey Forest.

As noted in the petition, the Australian Government committed to installing a crossing for wildlife at Toohey Road.  We have been advised that the Australian Government are currently considering several options for improving safety for wildlife at Toohey Road.  Council has been providing input and advice to them to support their considerations about the best solution for this location.

We look forward to sharing details of any future works once the Australian Government has confirmed how they would like to proceed.

Thanks again for getting in touch.

Kind regards

Biodiversity and Conservation Planning team”

I emailed the BCC back requesting for something to be built as a temporary measure until the fauna crossing can be installed. When they reply I will post another update! Hopefully it will be positive but even a temporary measure has a lot of paperwork involved with permits, finding staff available to do the job and planning to make sure a temporary measure does not negatively impact the forest.
