We, the residents of Tarpon Cove, do hereby petition the Collier County Commissioners to consider our request for a sidewalk to be constructed between the county pumping station and Tarpon Cove Community on Wiggins Pass Rd. Tarpon Cove Community Association consists of 365 units on the North side of Wiggins Pass Rd. At present, there is no sidewalk connecting the community with the sidewalk the county installed in front of the pumping station that leads to the Gateway shopping center.

We have been advised that the county will be doing construction on Wiggins Pass Rd to add a bike lane on the north side of the road. We are asking that at sidewalk be installed at the same time as a safety feature. Publix will be relocating their store from the Riverchase Mall to the Gateway Shoppes in North Naples. Many of our residents will be walking to Publix and at the present will need to cross Wiggins Pass Rd twice to walk to the store. Over the years, Wiggins Pass Rd has seen a large increase in traffic due to the building of new high-rise condominiums on Vanderbilt Dr and an increase in winter vacationers to the area.

The Tarpon Cove Community Association will approve the easement on our property for the construction of this sidewalk.
