Install water bowls and shade spots for stray animals- A step towards compassionate living
The Issue
Description:
Every summer, countless stray animals silently suffer — thirsty, exhausted, and desperate for relief from the scorching heat. A simple act like placing a bowl of water or creating a patch of shade can mean the difference between life and death for them.
We, the members of Home for Voiceless Foundation, along with compassionate citizens, urge the Municipal Corporations:
1. Install water bowls and shaded resting spots for stray dogs, cats, and birds in parks, marketplaces, and public areas.
2. Partner with local NGOs, volunteers, and schools to maintain these facilities regularly.
3. Spread awareness that feeding and caring for strays is not only humane — it is also a legal right.
The Delhi High Court (2021) recognized the Right to Feed Stray Animals as a lawful and protected act. The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and Article 51A(g) of the Indian Constitution also emphasize that compassion toward all living beings is a fundamental duty of every citizen.
By signing this petition, you’re standing up for kindness — a value that defines true humanity. Together, let’s make a city where every soul, human or animal, can live with dignity.
Let’s start small but dream big — one bowl of water, one act of compassion, one life saved.
