Install Two Stop Signs in Hawk's Landing Neighborhood

Install Two Stop Signs in Hawk's Landing Neighborhood
The Issue
Our neighborhood, Hawk's Landing, in Union, KY, has been grappling with a significant speeding issue ever since it was connected to an older existing neighborhood. Children in our area love to play outdoors, riding bikes and scooters, and engaging in sports, especially during the summer months. However, the lack of adequate traffic control measures has made it extremely difficult for parents to feel at ease as their children play outside. The fear of a speeding car possibly causing harm is a constant worry.
For over three years, we have struggled to address this problem, only to find limited support from the county or our HOA. Our community deserves a safe environment where children can play without fear, and residents can walk without constantly worrying about traffic hazards.
To tackle this issue, we are proposing the installment of two stop signs around crucial points in our neighborhood. One stop sign at the corner of Tate Court and Gordon Blvd. and the other at the corner of Miles Court and Gordon Blvd. This action will play a pivotal role in curbing excessive speeding and enhancing the safety of our children and pedestrians alike.
Immediate action on this matter would not only protect the lives of numerous children who regularly use these streets but also demonstrate our county's commitment to the safety and wellbeing of its residents. By signing this petition, you support making our neighborhoods safer and more secure for everyone. We urge the county commissioner to prioritize this request and install the stop signs without delay.
Please join us in advocating for a safer community. Your signature could be the voice that ensures our neighborhood streets are safe for all, especially the young ones who deserve nothing less than a secure environment to enjoy their childhood. Sign this petition to make a meaningful difference in our community today.
