Install traffic lights and lower speed limit on Highway 67/151 in Glenpool, OK

The Issue

A persistent and distressing issue affecting our community in Glenpool, Oklahoma, is the frequent occurrence of severe automobile wrecks along Highway 67/ 151, especially at the intersection with Warrior Road and the stretch between I75 and Elwood. I, like many other residents, have witnessed the tragic aftermath of these accidents, which often result in life-threatening injuries and sometimes, unfortunately, fatalities.

The current infrastructure fails to adequately ensure the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. With high-speed limits in place and insufficient traffic control at key intersections, the risk of collisions remains unacceptably high. This situation calls for immediate corrective measures to prevent further loss of life and enhance road safety for all users.

We propose the installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Highway 67/151 and Warrior Road. This intersection is a notorious trouble spot for drivers and has been the site of numerous accidents. Traffic lights would greatly improve the flow of vehicles and reduce the likelihood of collisions by regulating the traffic more effectively.

Additionally, we urge a reduction in the speed limit on Highway 67/ 151 between I75 and Elwood. By lowering the speed limit, we can encourage safer driving practices and significantly cut down the risk of high-speed crashes.

These changes are not just beneficial but necessary for the overall wellbeing of everyone who uses Highway 67/ 151. Inaction is no longer an option. The lives and safety of our community depend on immediate action.

Please support this petition by signing and sharing it. Together, we can advocate for a safer Highway 151 in Glenpool, making our roads less hazardous for everyone. Your support can spark the change we desperately need. Sign the petition and help save lives.
