As a local councillor for Shortlands and Park Langley Ward (London Borough of Bromley), I am deeply concerned about the safety of our community. As the last station in zone 4 Shortlands is an attractive point to disembark for people with bad motives. 

Installing ticket barriers at Shortlands Station would significantly deter anti-social behaviour and more dangerous offences. It would enhance security in our community. In fact, according to British Transport Police data, stations with ticket barriers have seen a notable reduction in crime rates (source: British Transport Police Annual Report). 

Shortlands is a safe place to live and I want to keep it that way.
