Chúng tôi viết thư này để bày tỏ mối quan tâm lâu nay của chúng tôi về việc không có lá cờ dân tộc của miền Nam Việt Nam tại Thương Xá Phước Lộc Thọ(Asian Garden Mall) ở 9200 Bolsa Avenue, Westminster CA, U.S.A nơi đại diện cho di sảng và lịch sử của tất cả cộng đồng người Việt Nam tị nạn ở hải ngoại.

Mặc dù chúng tôi tôn trọng quyền sở hữu tư nhân của những chủ nhân thương xá này và quyền tự do biểu đạt của họ trong việc họ chọn lựa lá cờ nào để treo trên tài sản của mình, nhưng vô số người Việt tị nạn hải ngoại yêu chuộng tự do cảm thấy vô cùng xúc phạm về thái độ kiêu ngạo của ban giám đốc và ban quản lý khi họ không tôn trọng những điều nhạy cảm của cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn hải ngoại, trong khi ban giám đốc Phước Lộc Thọ kiếm sống và làm giàu từ chính túi tiền của những cư dân và khách du lịch gốc Việt tị nạn hải ngoại này.

Chúng tôi, với tư cách là cư dân của thành phố Westminster và là thành viên của cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn hải ngoại, trân trọng yêu cầu ban giám đốc và ban quản lý tại Phước Lộc Thọ cho phép chúng tôi làm cột cờ và treo lên lá cờ dân tộc của miền Nam Việt Nam trước cửa ra vào, phản ánh những kỳ vọng và mong muốn của vô số hàng ngàn người gốc Việt tị nạn hải ngoại mua sắm và ăn uống tại Little Saigon. Sự hiện diện của lá cờ dân tộc của miền Nam Việt Nam thân yêu tại Phước Lộc Thọ (trung tâm của Little Saigon) sẽ mang lại nhiều niềm vui cho rất nhiều du khách gốc Việt tị nạn hải ngoại trên toàn thế giới đồng thời sẽ mang lại nhiều lợi ích cho trung tâm mua sắm này.

We are writing to express our longstanding concern about the absence of the nationalist flag of South Vietnam at the Phuoc Loc Tho(Asian Garden Mall) at 9200 Bolsa Avenue, Westminster, CA, U.S.A., when this place represents the heritage and history of the Vietnamese refugee communities worldwide.

Although we respect the shopping mall owner's private property rights and their right of free expression to include the flag of choice for installation on their property, countless freedom-loving Vietnamese find it profoundly offensive and arrogant for the board of directors and management to disrespect the sensitivities of the Vietnamese refugee communities worldwide, while making a living and grow rich from the very same pockets of the Vietnamese refugee residents and tourists.

We, as residents of the city of Westminster and members of the Vietnamese Refugee community worldwide, respectfully request the board of directors and management at Phuoc Loc Tho to allow us to build a flagpole and hang the nationalist flag of South Vietnam at its front entrance, reflecting the expectations and desires of the countless thousands of Vietnamese refugees worldwide who shop and eat at Little Saigon. The presence of the nationalist flag of beloved South Vietnam at Phuoc Loc Tho (the heart of Little Saigon) will bring much joy to the many Vietnamese refugee tourists worldwide while bringing many benefits to this shopping mall.
