My son, a sweet five-year-old boy, was struck by a car when he attempted to cross the street at the intersection of Mollhoff Ct and Cedar Creek Lane. He was just trying to play with his friends. Several children frequent this area, and the horror that my family and I are currently experiencing is something I don't wish for any other family.

Our situation is not singular. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in the United States, a pedestrian injury occurs every 7 minutes, and the most common victims are children and the elderly. This is largely due to lack of effective and visible traffic control systems.

Therefore, we call upon the city council to take immediate action. We demand the erection of a stop sign and a speed limit sign at the intersection of Mollhoff Ct and Cedar Creek Lane. This will provide drivers with clear markers and could dramatically reduce the chances of accidents in our neighborhood.
