Install speed bumps on Glebedale Road in Fenton

The Issue

Four of my beloved cats have been killed, while one was left injured, by reckless drivers speeding down Glebedale Road. As a resident of Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, I am heartbroken by the loss and deeply concerned for the safety of my community. Most drivers do not even pause to check the injured animals, let alone take them to the vet. This is a terrifying reality for myself and many of my neighbours who have young children and pets.

Over the past few years, Glebedale Road has seen more than 10 incidents where animals have been killed or seriously injured due to speeding cars. It is a residential area that should provide a safe environment for families, children, and pets who play outside daily. Unfortunately, the road has become a danger zone due to the negligence of some motorists.

Speed bumps are a proven solution to controlling traffic and reducing speeding. According to the UK Department for Transport, speed bumps can reduce vehicle speeds by 10 mph (16 km/h) on average, significantly decreasing the likelihood of fatal accidents. By installing speed bumps, we can prevent more tragedies and make Glebedale Road a safer place for everyone.

This petition urges the local council of Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, to take immediate action by installing speed bumps on Glebedale Road. Together, we can protect our loved ones, both human and animal, and ensure the safety of our community. Sign this petition to demand necessary change and promote a secure neighbourhood for all. Together, we can prevent further loss and protect our shared home.

By signing this petition your potentially stopping more accidents or the possibility of a fatal crash similar to what we saw happen in anchor road recently. We are scared of what could happen next time we see a car driving at dangerous speeds down this road. Thank you
