In the heart of Greenwood Estate, we are facing a daily threat to the safety and well-being of our children and pets. Vehicles are speeding through our neighborhood with reckless abandon, creating a hazardous environment for our families. My heart aches every time I hear of another close call or, even worse, another beloved pet or a neighbor's child finding themselves in the path of a speeding car.

This issue hits home for so many of us, as we strive to create a safe and nurturing community. This residential area should be a haven where families feel secure allowing their children to play outdoors, where we can walk our dogs without fear, and enjoy the peace that living in Greenwood Estate should naturally bring. However, the safety of our community is compromised by drivers who see our neighborhood streets as nothing more than a shortcut.

According to local traffic reports, vehicle speed violations in residential neighborhoods increase the risk of accidents significantly. Speed bumps have been successfully used in many similar communities to effectively slow down traffic, thereby reducing the number of accidents and making streets safer for pedestrians and animals alike. Installing speed bumps along Greenwood Estate's main thoroughfares would not only act as a deterrent to speedy drivers but also serve as a constant reminder to those behind the wheel that this community values safety above all.

We need the local municipality and traffic safety authorities to recognize the seriousness of this issue and take action swiftly. Installing speed bumps would demonstrate a commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community. It is a proactive measure that stands as both practical and necessary.

Let's rally together as a community to demand action before another tragic incident occurs. Your support can make a significant difference in ensuring the roads of Greenwood Estate are safe for everyone. Please sign this petition to urge the authorities to install speed bumps and bring about this much-needed change to preserve the safety and peace of our neighborhood.
