Install roundabouts at key Feilding intersections

Growing up in Feilding, I've always been proud of our beautiful town and the strong sense of community it fosters. But in recent years, the intersections at Waughs Road & South Street and North Street & Kimbolton Road have become increasingly dangerous and a source of concern for residents. The risk of accidents at these busy junctions cannot be ignored any longer.
Countless residents, including myself, have found themselves in precarious situations while navigating these intersections. Near misses have become alarmingly frequent, each one a stark reminder of the urgent need for action. Many of us have witnessed accidents that resulted in unnecessary injuries and damage, all because these intersections lack the necessary traffic infrastructure.
The Manawatu District Residents & Ratepayers executive and Cr Colin Dyer have already taken significant steps by preparing a petition for NZTA addressing this issue. It's imperative that we, the people who live and work in this area, add our voices to this call for change. Roundabouts have been proven to reduce accidents and improve the flow of traffic more effectively than traditional signalized intersections. According to a study by the New Zealand Transport Agency, implementing roundabouts can lead to a reduction in injury crashes by up to 70%.
