As most of you know, I recently lost a beloved pet on Brunswick St in Penticton.

Walnut, my cat, was not able to avoid a speeding vehicle and I watched him die in front of me.

After I posted about his death on Facebook, many people responded that they have also lost pets this way, and that speed is an issue in their neighborhood. People expressed concern for kids too.

This is a preventable issue. I think the city of Penticton should install speed bumps on residential side streets, starting with Brunswick St the next time they do road maintenance, followed by other neighborhoods.
