The Issue

We have encouraging feedback from the parks department as well as some of the city staff. They are excited to have private individuals working to make our city brighter and more exciting.

We propose the installation of concrete art walls at locations tbd throughout the parks system. This would generate a free, public space dedicated to murals and creative expression, encouraging local artists, schools, and the wider community to participate. Envision walls that are 6-8 ft high, 12-24 ft long, which would host mural competitions, festivals, art workshops, and provide room for spontaneous painting.

By bringing this idea into reality, we will not merely create an outlet for artistic expression. This initiative has the power to enrich Sioux Falls' cultural landscape, fostering a stronger sense of community, creativity, and pride.

Help us make Sioux Falls brighter and united through art. Together, let's put color not just on the barren walls, but also in the lives of people in our community. Sign this petition and show your support for public art walls installation in Nelson Park.
