Victory! Victory! A New Permanent Sea Lion Sign Is Coming

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we have reached an important milestone!
Harbor Director Michael Tripp has publicly confirmed that the Harbor Department is working with NOAA to replace the outdated sea lion sign with a new permanent sign based on an official NOAA template. This comes after the original sign had become faded and no longer contained valid contact information.
This is exactly what our petition set out to accomplish—ensuring that visitors have accurate information to help protect the sea lions and other marine wildlife that call Channel Islands Harbor home.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who signed the petition, shared it with family and friends, and helped spread the word. Your voices made a difference, and together we helped bring about positive change for our wildlife and our community.
While this is a victory worth celebrating, I will continue to monitor the progress until the new permanent sign has been installed. I’ll keep everyone updated as we move forward.
