Harbor Master Channel Islands Harbor

Thank you for taking the time to respond and for providing a clear update. I appreciate that the Harbor Department has reached out to NOAA and that you’re moving forward with creating a new permanent sign using an official NOAA template. That is encouraging news.

My concern has always been protecting both the sea lions and the public. Clear, accurate signage is an important part of that effort, especially during pupping season when people may not understand the need to keep a safe distance.

Thank you for listening to the community and everyone who signed the petition. I look forward to seeing the new sign installed and appreciate your commitment to improving safety and wildlife protection in the harbor

I also hope the Harbor Department will continue working with NOAA and other wildlife agencies on education and enforcement when needed, so the new signage is as effective as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and for providing this update. I sincerely appreciate the Harbor Department’s efforts to work with NOAA and to move forward with a new permanent sign based on the official NOAA template. Protecting the sea lions while educating visitors has always been the goal of this petition, and I’m grateful that this concern has been heard. I look forward to seeing the new sign installed.

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who signed and shared this petition. Your voices helped bring attention to this issue, and together we’ve made a positive difference for the sea lions and our community.
