I am deeply concerned about student and pedestrian safety on Ralston Avenue in Belmont, particularly after school hours. Many students utilize the sidewalk on the south side of Ralston Avenue for their walk home from school, and the lack of a protective railing exposes these youngsters to the risk of falling onto the road, potentially causing serious accidents. As a resident, I am urging city officials to install a pedestrian railing.

Adding a railing can drastically reduce this risk and provide a safe walking environment for our children. This is about protecting our community—a community heavily populated by students and pedestrians who deserve the right to safe passage on their route home.  This is a small thing that can make a huge impact.
