Install Multiple Speed Humps in Liberty Park, Montgomery County to Protect Our Families

Install Multiple Speed Humps in Liberty Park, Montgomery County to Protect Our Families
The Issue
Libert Park Subdivision is a residential Subdivision located in Montgomery County, Tennessee, with a posted speed limit of 20 MPH. That speed limit exists for one reason: to protect the people who live here.
But too many drivers ignore it.
Vehicles regularly travel far above the posted limit, turning our neighborhood street into a dangerous roadway for children, families, pedestrians, pets, and anyone simply trying to pull into or out of their driveway.
This is not a minor inconvenience. It is a daily safety risk.
Residents witness speeding on all roads on a regular basis. Families should not have to worry that a child riding a bike, walking to a mailbox, or playing near their own yard could be put at risk because traffic is not being controlled.
One speed hump will not solve the problem.
Freedom Drive, as well as other main roadwayd is long enough that drivers can speed through multiple sections of the roadway. To create meaningful speed reduction and safer driving behavior, multiple strategically placed speed humps are needed along the road.
We are calling on Montgomery County Highway Department and the Montgomery County Commission to:
• Conduct an immediate traffic and speed study on Freedom Drive to start and move onto other main roadways.
• Install multiple speed humps throughout the roadway
• Evaluate additional traffic-calming measures if needed
• Increase speed enforcement until permanent measures are installed
This is about prevention.
We should not have to wait for a child, neighbor, pet, or driver to be seriously injured before action is taken.
Freedom Drive should be safe for the people who live on it—not treated like a shortcut or speedway.
By signing this petition, you are standing for safer roads, safer families, and a safer community.
