Install lights at Warden Ellesmere Skatepark

Install lights at Warden Ellesmere Skatepark
The Issue
Growing up, Warden Ellesmere Skatepark has always been an integral part of our community. It's more than just a place to skateboard; it’s a safe haven for our youth, a communal gathering space where friendships are forged, and confidence is built. Our kids deserve to skateboard in a secure environment, yet as the sun sets, the skatepark becomes inaccessible and potentially hazardous due to the lack of lighting.
Having sufficient lighting at Warden Ellesmere Skatepark would not only enhance safety but also extend usability hours, allowing both casual and dedicated skateboarders more time to practice their skills. It would provide a well-illuminated setting for evening gatherings, encouraging kids to participate in a healthy activity rather than being lured by less productive pursuits.
This petition is a call to the local council and community leaders to install proper lighting at our beloved skatepark. Doing so is an investment in our community’s youth and future. Lights at the skatepark mean parents can rest easy knowing their children have a safe place to spend their time productively after school and even into the early evening.
Numerous other skateparks across the country have benefitted from this fundamental infrastructure upgrade. For instance, the St. Helena Skatepark in California saw a 40% increase in community use and a marked improvement in local youth engagement following the installation of proper lighting.
Let us bring this improvement to Warden Ellesmere Skatepark, ensuring it remains a vital community asset used safely and to its full potential. Your signature can make a difference. Sign this petition to urge our local leaders to make this crucial upgrade, providing an inclusive, well-lit space for everyone in our community. Join us in brightening the future of Warden Ellesmere Skatepark today!
