North Laurel Skate Park is my favorite local skate park and a place where I can skate freely and meet new people. However, as the days get shorter, it becomes increasingly difficult to enjoy this space in the evenings due to inadequate lighting. Proper lighting would not only extend the hours of use but also enhance safety for all skaters.

Skateboarding is a popular activity in our community, providing physical exercise and fostering social connections among residents. According to the Tony Hawk Foundation, well-lit skate parks are associated with reduced vandalism and increased community engagement.

Please sign this petition to urge Howard County officials to install lights at North Laurel Skate Park so we can continue enjoying this valuable community space safely after dark.
