Install fountains into Windrose Ponds
The Issue
***Update 08/10/26
It has come to my attention that my original description included misinformation, that has since been revised. I want to clarify that the directed target of this petition is an HOA Board. Neither our local Government or it's officials, or the City of Pilot Point and it's employees are involved in any way. The petition is strictly between Windrose Residential Community Members (homeowners) - and Assured Management Incorporated (Management company) for the Windrose Residential Community ponds.****
Hello Windrose Neighbor,
Our newest community manager has informed us that if there is enough interest from members, the Management Company will kindly present the petition to the Board for consideration.
Introducing fountains into the pond would not only elevate aesthetic appeal but would also serve practical purposes for ecological and public health. Automated fountains work by circulating water, which reduces the development of mosquito larvae as they thrive in still water. Such a system would help to significantly lower the mosquito population, decreasing the risk of diseases such as West Nile Virus and Dengue Fever, which are transmitted by these pests.
Moreover, aerating the pond will increase oxygen levels in the water, enhancing the overall quality and supporting aquatic life. Healthy and oxygen-rich water is crucial for fish and other organisms that reside in the pond. A balanced ecosystem also means less unsightly algae blooms, which can cover the pond's surface, impacting both its visual appeal and the biodiversity of the area.
The cost of installing and maintaining such a fountain system is an investment in our community's future. Fountains are not only a cost-effective but also an environmentally-friendly solution to such problems. Case studies from various suburbs show an upsurge in property values and community engagement post the installation of similar features.
