The issue

Living in an area with lots of children who walk to school, we have no safe places to walk, ride, or scooter on, except for the road. As a rate paying resident of Condobolin, NSW, I am deeply concerned about the safety of our children and residents who face daily hazards due to the lack of footpaths on the north side of town.

Currently, the absence of footpaths forces pedestrians, including young children, parents with strollers, and the elderly, to share the roads with vehicles. This increases the risk of accidents and injuries. According to road safety stats, pedestrians are one of the most vulnerable groups in road accidents, with children being particularly at risk. Our community deserves a safe and accessible walking environment that promotes healthy and active lifestyles for all residents.

The installation of footpaths will not only ensure the safety of our community members but also encourage outdoor activities, enhance connectivity, and contribute to the overall well-being of Condobolin. It will create a more inclusive and connected town where everyone, regardless of age, social status or mobility, can navigate safely.

We request the Lachlan Shire Council to prioritize the development and construction of footpaths on the northern side of town. It's a necessary step towards improving public safety, and it demonstrates a commitment to building a sustainable and pedestrian-friendly community. Moreover, it promotes safe footpaths for active people to use over the whole of Condobolin.

Join me in advocating for a safer Condobolin by signing this petition. Let's work together to ensure the well-being and security of our community. Every signature brings us closer to a safer environment for our children and fellow residents. Please sign and share this petition to make a lasting impact.
