Another person just died in a flood that could have been prevented.

Early Wednesday morning, flash flooding swept through Dallas. A man lost his life after his car became submerged near I-635 and Park Central Drive — an area known to flood during storms. Rescuers tried everything, even risking their own lives, but the water was too strong.

This keeps happening. And it doesn’t have to.

We’re calling on the City of Dallas to install flood barriers, automated gates, and warning signs at the most flood-prone roads — starting with the site of this latest tragedy. These safety systems already exist in other cities and have saved countless lives.

No one else should die because they drove into floodwaters they couldn’t see or didn’t realize were deadly.
