Install Clean Water Bowls for Stray Animals in Jhajjar's Public Spaces
The Issue
A few weeks ago, I witnessed first hand the suffering a simple water bowl could prevent. I was walking in my neighbourhood park when I spotted a stray dog collapsed near a tree. People passed by, assuming it was sleeping. But on closer inspection, it was clear the dog was panting heavily, struggling from heat exhaustion. There was no water source nearby. I managed to find an old bottle and offered water, which the dog drank desperately.
Right then, I realized the importance of a readily available water source for stray animals, especially during the scorching summer season when temperatures can soar above 40°C in Jhajjar. Around here, stray dogs, cats, and other animals suffer from dehydration on a daily basis. We all know that access to clean water is not a luxury but a basic need - for humans and animals alike.
Our Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act compels us to ensure animals are not subjected to unnecessary suffering. Yet, these strays, often ignored, are integral parts of our ecosystem. They not only help in controlling the rodent population but also contribute to our community by providing companionship for those who care for them.
It is time we showed compassion to these creatures by taking simple, achievable steps. Let's start by installing clean water bowls for them in our public parks and streets. Such a small act of kindness can significantly improve their living conditions and decrease their chances of suffering from severe dehydration or even death due to heat.
Let us be the voice for those who can't speak. Let us make Jhajjar a safer place for our stray animals. They deserve our compassion and help. Sign this petition, demand our local government to install clean water bowls for stray animals in Jhajjar's public spaces.
