One of my classmates got hit by an oncoming train, and it could have been prevented with arms and lights at the railroad crossing. In Jackson County, WI, many railroad crossings lack essential safety features like crossing arms and warning lights. According to the Federal Railroad Administration, there were over 2,000 collisions at railroad crossings in the U.S. last year alone. Installing these safety measures can significantly reduce accidents and save lives.
