The Issue

I live near the intersection of Boyette Road and Carr Road, and every day I fear for my safety and the safety of others who travel through this area. This is not just any intersection; it’s a notorious hotspot for accidents. Over the past few years there have been numerous accidents, some even resulting in tragic fatalities. As a community member deeply invested in the safety and well-being of the public, I urge you to consider the dire need for a traffic signal at this intersection.

Moreover, our area is in the midst of rapid development, promising to bring in more traffic and increasing the risk of accidents even further. Residential neighborhoods, a daycare, office buildings, and a large scale medical facility are expected to break ground in the vicinity, inevitably contributing to heavier traffic. Consistently, there are cars in all four left turn lanes attempting to execute a change of direction across oncoming traffic. Without a proper traffic signal, an alternative to the flashing light currently in place, the risk of accidents will only escalate thus putting more lives at risk.

What we're asking for isn't extravagant or unreasonable. A traffic signal at this intersection is not only practical but lifesaving. It's a simple solution with the potential to save lives and prevent countless injuries. Installing a traffic signal would mitigate these dangers, offering safer roads for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

We must act before another senseless tragedy occurs. I urge the local government agencies and transportation authorities to prioritize this issue and allocate resources towards the installation of a traffic signal at Boyette Road and Carr Road.

Please sign this petition to support the installation of a traffic signal at this dangerous intersection. Your signature could be instrumental in preventing future accidents and saving lives.
