We The Citizens of Dallas, Texas are petitioning the City of Dallas, Texas because there have been vehicle accidents at this intersection due to poor view and speeding. We believe this will save money in the long run and most importantly save lives. On March 29th, 2015 at about 6:50PM James Burris and Angelica Figueroa were hit by one of the two street racers at the intersection of Buckner Rd. and Dixie Ln. in Dallas, TX. James Burris died at the scene and the passenger has serious bodily injuries. We feel that this could have been prevented if there had been a traffic light or some kind of road block to prevent this type of travel option. Our lives are worth more than the cost of a traffic light or concrete barrier. The option that might be more cost effective is to block off the street to let no traffic out or in at the intersection of Dixie Ln. and Buckner rd. The Residents or thru traffic, should only use the Mercer intersection to enter or leave the neighborhood.
