On October 3rd, 2023, My brother-in-law, Stanley (Nicco) Butler, was traveling down Highway 51 on his motorcycle. A woman in an SUV dismissed the stop sign on 51 and Woodlawn causing her to T-bone him. This caused him to be thrown over 100 feet down the highway with severe injuries. These injuries later resulted in his death at a local hospital. His death is not an isolated incident but one of many that have occurred at this dangerous intersection over the past decade, leading to fatalities and serious injuries.

The community has been crying out for change for years, begging city officials to install a traffic light at this perilous junction on Highway 51 and Woodlawn in Brighton, TN, USA. Despite these pleas, our calls have fallen on deaf ears while lives continue to be lost and damaged.

It's time we put an end to these preventable tragedies by installing a traffic light that will regulate traffic flow and ensure safer passage for all road users. The cost of doing nothing is simply too high - it's measured in human lives.
