On June 18th 2025 a wreck occurred at the T-intersection of Highway 245 and 509 near Saint Gregory. This accident almost took the life of a dear friend and father. This man, who builds homes for Habitat for Humanity and servers his church and community by distributing food to the needed was almost taken from his family. And he is not the first! This is one of the most dangerous intersections in Nelson County. It sits between the hospital and a small business district on each side. We are asking that the department of transportation and state officials move to install a traffic light at this intersection, which services a school and many neighborhoods on 509 as well as access to Bardstown and Interstate 65. This is one of the most dangerous intersections in the county and a light is desperately needed to provide for the safety of the residents in the area as well as students coming to and from the near by school.
