I've personally seen several accidents occur at the intersection of Anderson Rd and Jackson Avenue as a result of poor traffic control. As a concerned local resident, this matter is personal to me: the safety of our community is at stake. Despite being a busy junction, this intersection is not equipped with a fundamental safety tool - a traffic light. Not only is the absence of a proper signal system a blatant disregard for our safety, it is also a violation of our right to commute without fear. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2019 alone, inadequate traffic control was a contributing factor in approximately 25% of motor vehicle accidents, and these numbers could potentially be reduced by installing proper signaling tools such as a traffic light. Therefore, I urge our local government to acknowledge the urgency of this issue and install a traffic light at the Anderson Rd and Jackson Avenue intersection.
