Hi neighbors! I’m reaching out because I’m working to bring a joint pickleball/tennis court to Eastern Park (off of Fillmore Avenue), and I need your support!!
 
The city asked me to attend an upcoming Common Council meeting to present this idea, and it would really help to show that the community is behind it.
 
If you live near the park or use it (or would use it), please comment below with why you think adding a court would benefit our city, whether it’s for fitness, social connection, safe recreation for our city's kids and adults, or increasing park activity.
 
My personal reason: Adding a pickleball/tennis court at Eastern Park would help this lesser known park be more accessible and increase walkability in the CoT. Walkability encourages physical activity, promotes businesses in the area (such as the restaurant & shop going in the Elli, the new Smoke on the Water Development, etc), and may spur more businesses to pop up in coming years! With the Elli being built, this addition would allow our city's residents to walk on the walking path, access the water, be physically active, host events, and eat at restaurants within one road - promoting accessibility for our kids, elderly and adults.
