As residents of O'Fallon, Missouri, we will be experiencing disruptions due to the prolonged, 8-month closure of the intersection at Weldon Spring Road and Crusher Dr. This closure will only get worse when the nearby schools resume class next week and additional bus and car traffic resume. This closure is creating problems, causing a detour which affects thousands of residents daily. Many of us sit in traffic that backs up to John Weldon during peak hours, while attempting to access Hwy K or I-64, as we are directed through an ill-equipped alternate route.

Furthermore, the traffic congestion has resulted in dangerous conditions for the children attending the nearby John Weldon Elementary School. School buses will struggle to navigate the traffic during peak times, and young drivers from our community face increased risks due to the unexpected traffic patterns. 

Despite our attempts to reach out to various departments, there has been little progress or consideration for the immediate implementation of a solution. Hence, we are pressing for a temporary stoplight to be installed at the intersection of Weldon Spring Road and Technology Drive in O'Fallon, MO.

This temporary stoplight will not only alleviate the current traffic distresses but will also ensure safer travel conditions particularly for our school-going children and young drivers. We value the safety and time of our citizens and firmly believe that the city should do the same.
