The Issue

Ensuring the safety of our children and community members should be a top priority. This includes providing safe travel routes in high-traffic areas, especially near schools where children are present. Our concern arises from the fact that there is no existing stoplight at the intersection of County Road 50 and the entrance/exit to Kenwood Trail Middle School. Currently, this lack of traffic control is posing a sizable risk to school children and drivers alike. According to the National Association of City Transportation Officials, intersections near schools with traffic control measures have seen up to a 70% reduction in pedestrian-vehicle crashes. We are requesting the local authorities to seriously consider installing a stoplight in this area. This action will not only ensure safety at this intersection but also create peace of mind for parents and drivers. Invest in community safety and safeguard the future of our children. Please sign this petition to support the installation of a stoplight at the intersection of County Road 50 and Kenwood Trail Middle School.
