Install a Stop Sign at the Entrance of Our Neighborhood to Improve Safety and Traffic Flow

The Issue

We are hoping to address the need of a stop light at the front of our neighborhood on SR64. I am sure most of us can speak on the  hardships and frustrations of attempting to leave our neighborhood during peak rush hour times. Leaving our neighborhood should not be a battle against prolonged wait times and risks to our safety due to the lack of proper traffic mechanisms. Our neighborhood is in dire need of a stop light at its entrance to address these ongoing concerns especially with all the cut through traffic and ever increasing population

The Town Board agrees to the need of a traffic light at this intersection, and in 2016 it was approved by INDOT for one to be installed. However, INDOT continues to push this project back. The board members have petitioned the businesses at the front of the neighborhood to help strengthen the case that a stop light is needed there, and yet INDOT continues to not approve.

The Town Board has requested a petition from effected residents to help build a stronger case with the state to get this approved and on the books to be completed.

The lack of a stop light at our neighborhood's entrance is not only a daily inconvenience but also poses a threat to the safety of all residents.
