In Claiborne County, there's a noticeable lack of recreational facilities for our children. Our kids deserve a safe, fun, and interactive place to spend their free time, just like children in neighboring regions. Every time my family visits Union County or Harrogate, I see the joy and excitement in my kids' eyes as they play on their splash pads. It raises the question: why can't our community have the same opportunity?

A splash pad at Tazewell City Park would not only provide a much-needed activity area for our children but also enhance the park's appeal for families. It can be a wonderful spot for children to connect, learn, and exercise while having fun. Moreover, splash pads are generally more affordable and easier to maintain than traditional swimming pools, using recirculated water systems to minimize waste and cost.

Statistics show that communities with accessible recreational areas for children experience lower rates of juvenile delinquency and contribute positively to children's mental and physical health. Indeed, by investing in such facilities, we are investing in the future well-being of our community.
