London Police Facebook Post – Newborn Found April 10

On April 10, 2025, a newborn baby was tragically discovered outside a dwelling in the heart of London, Ontario. This event could have ended in irreplaceable loss but fortunately, the infant is recuperating well in hospital. However, it's our role to guarantee that stories like these have better beginnings, not just conclusions.

Safe Haven Baby Boxes/Angle Cradles/Hope Cradles are innovative and compassionate options for women in crisis who feel there's no way out but to abandon their infants in unsafe environments. Across the world, these boxes have saved countless lives.

A Safe Haven Baby Box (also called an Angel Cradle in some regions) is a secure, anonymous, and legally protected drop-off location where a parent can surrender a newborn baby without fear of prosecution, shame, or confrontation. These boxes are typically installed at fire stations, hospitals, or EMS buildings, and are designed to protect the infant from harm and ensure immediate medical attention.

We must ensure that London is no exception.

Hence, we call on our government, our health departments, our community leaders, and our citizens to step up and advocate for the installation of at least one Safe Haven Baby Box in London. Together, we can make a change, save lives, and offer hope. Please sign this petition if you believe in a safer tomorrow for our most vulnerable.

If you'd like to take it one step further, consider reaching out to local or provincial representatives to share your support. Every message helps keep the pressure on and shows that people care.
