The Issue

As a mother of 14-month-old twins, I am constantly reminded of the joys of watching my children explore and grow through outdoor play. Chino Rancho Park offers a wonderful playground where my toddlers can have fun, learn, and develop. However, the park's proximity to the parking lot and the road presents a significant safety risk. My twins often dash in opposite directions, and with no physical barrier separating the playground from the potential hazards of moving vehicles, it becomes a daunting task to ensure their safety while they enjoy their time at the park.

Currently, there is no protection to prevent adventurous toddlers from wandering off the playground into the parking lot or the road, posing a severe risk of injury. A simple but crucial solution to this danger is the installation of a gated fence around the play area at Chino Rancho Park. Such a fence would not only provide peace of mind to parents but also offer a safe environment where children can play without the worry of running into harm's way.

Numerous parks across the country have recognized the importance of this safety feature. According to a study by the National Recreation and Park Association, well-designed playgrounds, including safety barriers, significantly reduce the risk of accidents. By installing a fence, Chino Rancho Park can enhance children's safety, reassuring parents that their children can play safely and freely.

We urge the city of chino and park authorities to take immediate action in safeguarding our children by prioritizing the installation of a fenced perimeter around the playground at Chino Rancho Park. Please join us in making this necessary change by signing this petition to create a safer play environment for our children. Together, let us transform concerns into actions ensuring our little ones can enjoy a secure and blissful time at the park.
