The Issue

If you are a neighbor on the 2100 block of E Cumberland St or 2500 block of Collins St and received a knock on the door tonight, 9/17/2026, no it was not a solicitor. Hi, my name is Carley and I am a neighbor of those streets.

I am petitioning, both physically and digitally, for

1) the Streets Dept to put a “Do Not Enter” sign at the intersection of E Cumberland St and Trenton Ave, and
2) to remove the stop light specifically facing towards Trenton Ave at the intersection of Frankford Ave and E Cumberland St

because far too many people turn onto E Cumberland (a one way street) from Trenton Ave (a two way street) the wrong way.

It is a danger to our community as our neighbors witness (often daily) motorists driving down E Cumberland St the wrong way. I have previously sent multiple requests for this change to the Streets Dept and they have not responded to any previous requests.

I’m hoping the power of community will change that. I believe that these changes will ensure that drivers who may not originally see the "One Way" signs on E Cumberland St will have clearer signals to indicate that E Cumberland St is a one way road.

I have contacted Council Member Squilla as of tonight, 9/17/2026, the first night I started the physical petition.

This digital petition has started on 9/18/2026 after a sleepless night, knowing that our community members face serious injury or even death if this continues to occur.

Please sign this petition.
