Install a Bus Shelter on Holyfield Road Outside Saint Chad's Church

Install a Bus Shelter on Holyfield Road Outside Saint Chad's Church
The Issue
I am a regular user of the bus stop on Holyfield Road outside Saint Chad's Church, and as someone living with Parkinson's, I rely heavily on public transport. This stop is crucial for many of us who don't drive and need to reach Sutton town centre. However, there is no shelter at this bus stop, leaving passengers exposed to the elements while they wait.
This bus stop is located on a busy road and serves as the main route into Sutton town centre. Despite its high usage, it lacks basic amenities like a shelter that can provide protection from rain or sun. The absence of such facilities makes waiting for buses an uncomfortable experience for many passengers - particularly elderly citizens, people with health conditions or disabilities like myself.
According to Transport for West Midlands' own data (2019), over 1 million journeys are made by bus every day in our region. It stands to reason that some portion of these journeys would involve waiting at this particular bus stop - yet we continue to be overlooked when it comes to basic infrastructure improvements.
It's time we addressed this issue head-on. We call upon Transport for West Midlands to install a much-needed shelter at the Holyfield Road bus stop outside Saint Chad's Church in Sutton Coldfield. This simple act will greatly improve the daily commuting experience for numerous residents who rely on public transportation in our community.
Please sign this petition if you use this stop
and believe everyone deserves safe and comfortable access to public transport services – because no one should have to stand unprotected in adverse weather conditions while waiting for their ride home.
