As a local Student, I've personally witnessed how hazardous the intersection of Madison and Comstock Streets in Syracuse can be. Currently, there is only a 2-way stop on Comstock Street combined with the steep inclines on both streets, creating a dangerous situation for both drivers and pedestrians. Last school year, a serious accident occurred at this intersection which resulted in at least one vehicle being totaled. While I’m unsure if anyone was injured, the severity of the crash highlights the urgent need for improved traffic control.

According to the World Health Organization, infrastructure improvements, such as installing stop signs, can play a significant role in reducing road traffic injuries. By installing a 4-way stop sign at this intersection, we could significantly improve the safety of our community. 

This is more than a personal issue for me it's a matter of public safety. We urge the city of Syracuse to take immediate action for the well-being of all who traverse this intersection. Please sign this petition to call for a 4-way stop sign at the intersection of Madison and Comstock Streets.
