Every day, I witness the reckless speeding on Kentucky Avenue in Dillon, where my family resides. The safety of our neighborhood is constantly at risk due to drivers disregarding speed limits, creating an unsafe environment for everyone, especially children, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Numerous residents of Kentucky Avenue have expressed similar concerns. With schools and parks scattered around the area, it’s not uncommon to see children playing or families taking walks. In its current state, this avenue has become a perilous route. One unexpected hazard or misjudgment could lead to devastating accidents.

The installation of four strategically placed stop signs on Kentucky Avenue could drastically reduce speed and mitigate risks.
